CNA Part Time - 24 Hours per Week

POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide basic health services under the Supervision of DON or Nurse Supervisor. Perform physical assessment and examination including obtaining medical history and vital signs during medical encounters and document findings in the medical record. Utilizes professional medical skills to meet a variety of health care needs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform physical assessment and examination including obtaining medical history and vital signs during medical encounters and document findings in the medical record.
- Assist with admission and discharge of infirmary care patients.
- Supervise inmates assigned to the health unit.
- Provide daily sick call screening in confinement areas.
- Participate in quality management committees and activities.
- Perform basic life support provided the employee holds a current American Heart Association.
- Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
- Assist patient/inmate with activities of daily living and document such care in the medical record.
- Other duties as required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Standard medical setting in a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel.

LICENSING: None
CERTIFICATION:
- CNA certification in the state of Indiana
- Current CPR certification
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience providing health support services with basic computer skills.
